Car bursts into flames on Cusat campus

Car parked at Cusat campus bursts into flames, completely gutted; no injuries reported, cause of fire unknown.
A car parked near the School of Management Studies on the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) campus burst into flames around 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
The car was completely gutted. Fire and rescue services personnel said the car belonged to a Palakkad native. It is learnt that the vehicle was given for service, and that the person behind the wheel had parked it at the spot after experiencing increased heat inside the cabin. He exited the car after noticing smoke emanating from the front portion. The vehicle reportedly burst into flames suddenly.
Two units from the Eloor and Thrikkakara fire stations arrived at the scene and doused the fire. No one was injured in the incident. The exact reason for the fire was yet to be ascertained, said fire and rescue services personnel.
