Despite the promises from the government and local representatives, the river, which is the main source of drinking and agricultural water in the area, is getting more polluted and contaminated.
Sunil Sharma lost his parents to cancer within a year. It was 2015-16 when both of them died due to the deadly illness leaving Sunil broken. But by the time Sunil had recovered from his losses another shock was waiting for him. He was detected with a malignant in his neck. All of this was happening apparently due to ‘cancer river’. Initially, he went for the treatment to Meerut and subsequently to the Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
After a long treatment and surgery, he recovered. However, now again a cancerous growth is being detected in his neck. Clueless Sunil is worried about his family which includes his wife and two kids. He earns meagerly from his agricultural land.
