Dandjinou took the lead with four laps to go and never gave it up.
"I didn't want Jens [van 't Wout] to have the lead too early, so I managed to grab it from him," the Canadian said in a release.
On the women's side, Florence Brunelle, of Trois-Rivières, Que., shook off sickness to take the silver medal in the 500m final.
"Behind the scenes this week has been a hell of a ride," Brunelle said. "A lot of motivation to keep going because I want to get gold."
Brunelle and Dandijinou also teamed up with Kim Boutin, of Sherbrooke, Que., and Steven Dubois, from Lachenaie, Que., to win bronze in the mixed team relay. The Canadians crossed the line in 2:38.513, behind gold medallists South Korea (2:38.036) and silver medallists China (2:38.051).
Canada had originally finished fourth, but were bumped up to bronze after the Dutch team was penalized for an infringement on the Canadians.
