On the IAS dog-walking row, former lieutenant governor of Puducherry and top cop Kiran Bedi has said such people can't be sent to union territories.
After bureaucrat Sanjeev Khirwar, who cleared Delhi’s Thyagraj stadium to walk his dog, was transferred to Ladakh amid controversy, former lieutenant governor of Puducherry and top cop Kiran Bedi has said, “Can’t send such people to UTs.”
Bedi said, “There cannot be punishment posting. People of UTs such as Ladakh are precious.”
The former top cop has suggested that the bureaucrat should have been sent on leave or he should have taken leave himself.
“He should apologise for the act,” she said.

Bedi said, “When (IAS) officers exercise power for long, some tend to act high-handed but can’t generalise the incident to judge all IAS officers.”
Khirwar’s wife, Rinku Dugga, also a bureaucrat, was transferred to Arunachal Pradesh.
