
Can’t reduce fuel price till economy stabilises: Tamil Nadu FM

Tamil Nadu finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan said fuel prices in the state will be reduced only when the economic situation improves. At the moment, petrol is retailing over Rs 98.60 per litre in the state while diesel costs Rs 92.83 per litre.
Tamil Nadu finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan has said that fuel prices cannot be reduced in the state till the economy stabilises. He also accused the central government of charging excess taxes on fuel. His comments came while replying to a query by AIADMK MLA Agri SS Krishnamoorthy during a session of the state assembly. It may be noted that the DMK in its poll manifesto assured that petrol price would be cut by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 4 per litre.More Related News
