Can't comment on our internal matter: Congress's Ajay Maken on Al Qaeda's remark on K'taka hijab row
India Today
Senior Congress leader Ajay Maken has condemned the statement of terrorist organisation Al Qaeda on the Karntaka hijab row and said the group has no right to comment on India's internal matters.
Senior Congress leader Ajay Maken said a terrorist organisation has no right to comment on the internal affairs of India after Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri lauded a girl who shouted “Allahu Akbar” at a mob to protest against the hijab ban in educational institutions.
He said, "Let me make it amply clear, we condemn the statement of Al Qaeda. It’s a terrorist organisation. They have no business commenting on our internal affairs. We strongly condemn the statement."
One of the most wanted terrorists, the elusive chief of Al Qaeda, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in a new video, spoke about the Hijab row that erupted in Karnataka earlier this year, calling Muskaan “India's noble lady” and reading a poem in her praise.

In the nine-minute video, released on Tuesday by the official AQ mouthpiece Shabab media, Zawahiri criticized India, saying that the hijab controversy brought the reality of “Hindu India” and its democracy to the fore. The terrorist exhorted Indian Muslims to react to this "oppression".
Makan also appealed to the state government to not polarise the environment. He said, "We also condemn the behaviour of the Home Minister of Karnataka. They are polarising the environment. This state is a place for investors and businesses. Please don’t polarise. It will affect the economy. We’re a democratic country and strong enough to solve our own issues."
Accusing the BJP of diverting attention from issues of importance, he said, "Karnataka has the highest level of corruption. The BJP wants to divert the issue. They are afraid of the Congress. They are diverting the issues.
