India’s economic recovery could encounter a short-term hurdle if the country faces a second wave of Covid-19, according to a global brokerage firm Nomura, which has also ruled out the possibility of long-term difficulties. On Thursday, the country reported over 35,000 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours — the highest single-day spike in 2021 so far. The rising number of Covid-19 infections has sent authorities in few states in overdrive to contain the spread of the deadly virus.
