"Can Puducherry Poll Be Deferred?": Madras High Court On Plea Against BJP
NDTV
Puducherry is scheduled to hold Assembly elections on April 6, with results due May 2
The Madras High Court on Friday asked the Election Commission if the Puducherry Assembly election - scheduled for April 6 - can be deferred in light of a petition alleging that the BJP had misused Aadhaar card details by accessing registered mobile phone numbers and sending WhatsApp invites to groups linking voters at booth levels. The court asked the central poll body why the election could not be postponed, and has directed the Election Commission to investigate and file a full report on this matter on March 30. The BJP has said it will file a response in court via its legal team.More Related News
