Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he can challenge the new bill merging Delhi civic bodies in court if needed.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday that if needed, he can challenge the new bill merging Delhi civic bodies in court. According to him, the seats of the Delhi Municipal Corporations (MCD) were reduced from 272 to 250 to defer the polls.
He said that the motive behind the bill was to delay the polls by one to two years. “The centre will take control of the MCD now” he continued.

Earlier this month, the Aam Aadmi Party had said, “The unification of the three MCDs could have been done long back and anytime. This is simply a ploy to delay the MCD elections. The BJP is scared of losing the civic polls in Delhi.”
Kejriwal had also dared the BJP to fight MCD elections timely and win.
