A "common sense" ballot initiative to reform California's Prop 47 has earned 900,000 signatures to make the November ballot, far surpassing the roughly 500,000 required signatures.
Under Prop 47, petty theft of goods valued under $950 is classified as a misdemeanor, even for multiple offenses. It also took a broad swath of narcotics possession offenses that were previously felonies and converted them to misdemeanors. Brianna Herlihy is a politics writer for Fox News Digital.
