The Calgary police homicide unit is investigating the deaths of a man and a woman who were found in different locations in the city's northwest on Sunday night.
After first investigating the man's death, just a couple hours later, police began investigating the death of a woman who they believe to be the man's daughter.
On Monday morning, police said they believed both deaths were targeted and domestic in nature.
Police responded to reports of a person in medical distress, at the 0 to 100 block of Kincora Grove N.W., around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday. When officers arrived, police say they found a man in his 70s who was dead.
Later on Sunday at 11:15 p.m., as police continued to investigate, they found a second victim who they believe to be the man's daughter. The woman was in her 30s and was found in the 300 block of Tuscany Ridge Heights N.W.
Because police believe both deaths were targeted, they said the incidents pose no threat to public safety. They added that investigators are looking for a black Nissan Pathfinder with the Alberta licence plate CLN-5276, which they believe was driven by the woman's spouse.
Autopsies for both bodies are scheduled for Friday. No arrests have been made, police said.
