Cabinet okays Rs 23,123 cr to boost health infra; appeals farmers to end protest, hold talks

The Union Cabinet has approved Rs 23,123 crore to boost health infrastructure and Rs 1 lakh crore to strengthen infrastructure related to the agriculture sector.

In its first meeting on Thursday, the new Union Cabinet approved a Rs 23,123-crore package to boost emergency health infrastructure in the country to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic following the second wave of infections. Meanwhile, in a visible change in stand, the Cabinet also appealed to farmers to end their months' long protest against the Centre's farm laws and come for talks with the government.
