Cab driver stabbed by 2 in Delhi for refusing free ride

A cab driver was stabbed after he allegedly refused to give a free ride to two men in Delhi's Sawan Park near Ashok Vihar.
A 30-year-old cab driver was stabbed after he allegedly refused to give a free ride to two men on Thursday in Delhi's Sawan Park near Ashok Vihar.The suspects, Tajim (22) and Pawan (23) have been arrested -- one after he was caught by the public at the crime scene and the other following police searches the same night, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The victim, Vipin Kumar, a resident of Jahangipuri, was driving back home on Thursday evening when the duo met him near the Sawan Park underpass. Tajim and Pawan wanted to get a lift to their home for free, as the cab was headed the same way.However, after Kumar refused to provide free service, a scuffle broke out between them, following which one of the two took out a knife and stabbed Kumar in his thigh.ALSO READ: Blinded by rage, man stabs wife repeatedly in Delhi's Rohini as bystanders record incident
A passerby rushed Kumar to Deep Chand Bandhu hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.While Tajim was caught by the public on the spot, Pawan was arrested later in the night following a search operation.
