A Bulgarian national, who was convicted in a money laundering case in 2019, escaped from the high-security Trichy central jail in Tamil Nadu.

A Bulgarian national, who was convicted in a money laundering case in 2019, has escaped from the Trichy central jail in Tamil Nadu. Illian Markov, 55, was arrested by the Chennai Police Crime Branch in 2019 in a money laundering case. He has been lodged at the prison in Trichy since then.
