Buildings in Surat Diamond Bourse will have no 13th floor, 'I' tower; here's why

There will be no 13th floor at the upcoming Surat Diamond Bourse commercial complex in Gujarat. The project has been hailed as the world's largest office building on a single basement.

India's second diamond trade hub after Bharat Diamond Bourse in Mumbai, the Surat Diamond Bourse has also been hailed as the world's largest office building on a single basement. The commercial office complex will have a total of nine 11-storey buildings, each named after an alphabet. What most people do not know is that the developers of Surat Diamond Bourse have decided to omit the 13th floor from all the nine buildings part of the complex. This means that the floor right above the 12th floor will be labelled the 14th floor.
