Budget session begins in Andhra Pradesh Assembly

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly and state Legislative Council began their budget session today with the governor, Biswabhusan Harichandan, addressing the assembly to kick off the session.
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly and the state legislative council have begun their budget sessions. On Monday, Andhra Pradesh Governor, Biswabhusan Harichandan, gave a speech to kick off the budget session in the Assembly .
The sessions started with a political ruckus between the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
Sessions will continue as normal from tomorrow. The Budget Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting will be held today, and the decision will be taken on how many days the session will run.

The opposition party leader and national president of TDP, N Chandrababu Naidu, is not attending the sessions. He had announced that he would only come back as the Chief Minister after the 2024 state elections.
The opposition leader for the TDP, Acham Naidu, and the MLAs of the party sat before the legislative assembly during the governor’s address. Acham Naidu tore the governor's address as a sign of protest against the governor’s speech.
The main opposition TDP demanded a discussion on the Amaravati capital issue, Polavaram project and various issues concerning farmers.
