The Border Security Force shot down a drone in Punjab's Ferozepur at about 3 am on Monday. The BSF recovered a small green bag, four yellow packets and one black one of suspected contraband along with the drone.
The Border Security Force shot down a drone in Punjab's Ferozepur at around 3 am on Monday. The BSF recovered a small green bag, four packets in yellow wrapping and a small black packet of suspected contraband items along with the drone.
The gross weight of the contraband items recovered was found to be approximately 4.17 kg with packing material.
In a press release, the BSF said, "On March 7 at about 2.55 am, forward deployed heard humming sound of suspicious flying object coming from Pakistan side to India side in Ferozpur sector."
The troops then sounded an alert and fired at the drone. They fired para bombs in order to illuminate the area and succeeded in shooting down the drone.
The drone is a quadcopter of the make DJI Matrice 300 RTX, as per the BSF.
Earlier, on Saturday, the Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire at a suspected Pakistani drone along the International Border (IB) in Jammu. Officials said a massive search operation was launched to ensure no weapons or narcotics were dropped by it.
