
Boy, 17, killed in Scarborough shooting

A 17-year-old boy has died following a shooting in Scarborough Wednesday afternoon, Toronto police say.
Emergency services responded to the shooting in the area of Gilder Drive and Eglinton Avenue East just before 3:45 p.m.
Police say officers found the boy with multiple gunshot wounds.
Toronto paramedics treated the victim at the scene before transporting him to a trauma centre where he died.
Police earlier said the victim was an adult.
Two schools in the area — Jean Vanier Catholic and Grand Ravine Junior Public School — were placed under hold and secure following the shooting, but it was subsequently lifted.
