
Border Patrol agents have stopped migrants from 147 different countries since October

The head of U.S. Border Patrol announced that agents have encountered migrants from 147 different countries so far this fiscal year -- with more than 900,000 encounters.
The top five countries for apprehensions were Mexico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia and Guatemala. Adam Shaw is a politics reporter for Fox News Digital, primarily covering immigration and border security.
Ortiz’s announcement came as Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that there were 154,998 migrant encounters overall at the southern border in February, down from the 166,010 encountered in February 2022 and down slightly from the 156,770 encountered in January 2023.
