The Bombay HC quashed the case on mutual consent, holding that no useful purpose would be served if a rape FIR is continued after the accused and survivor got married to each other.
A division bench of the Bombay High Court quashed an FIR registered at Talegaon Dabhade Police Station, Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune district, as the woman told the court that she had registered the FIR for rape due to misunderstanding.
