Bombay HC warns companies against selling Remdesivir vials directly to citizens

The Bombay High Court has issued a warning against private individuals purchasing the antiviral drug Remdesivir directly from manufacturers and distributing it.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday said that if they found any private company procuring Covid-19 drugs and distributing them to the individuals directly, they would pass an order of injunction against said entity. A division bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice Girish S Kulkarni made the remarks while hearing the plea over different issues related to improper management of Covid-19 in Maharashtra. Taking note of the incident in Maharashtra in which a BJP leader was found distributing 10,000 vials of Remdesivir to people, Justice Kulkarni questioned the lack of supervision from the Centre on the distribution of the antiviral drug.
