The Bombay High Court suspended the sentence of a man who was fined Rs 10.2 crore by the special CBI court for defrauding the government exchequer.
The Bombay High Court has suspended the sentence of six years in jail and Rs 10.2 crore fine imposed on a man by the special CBI court for defrauding the government exchequer.
The charge against accused Krishan Kumar Gupta was that between 1997 and 1998, he along with other co-accused forged and fabricated certain documents and induced the Customs Department to pay Rs 2,32,09,117 and caused wrongful loss to the government. Gupta had approached the High Court with an appeal against the conviction and sentence passed by the special CBI court in November 2021.
