The Aurangabad bench of Bombay High Court on Monday refused to quash an FIR against a lawyer accused of raping, cheating and wrongful confinement of his second wife. During the hearing, the lawyer claimed that the woman was his legally wedded wife and demanded that the FIR against him be quashed. The court was informed by the prosecution that the petitioner, Ranjit Gaund, was a lawyer by profession, which he had not disclosed in his petition. The woman had filed a couple of affidavits before the court, claiming that she had approached Ranjit Gaund for her divorce. As the closeness between them grew, she moved in with him along with her son from the first marriage.More Related News
