Bombay HC permits gurudwara to hold Prabhat Pheri on Friday, expresses surprise at Maha govt’s objection

On Thursday, the Bombay High Court allowed a gurudwara in Thane district in Maharashtra to conduct a four-hour Prabhat Pheri on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on Friday. The court also expressed surprise at the state government's objection to the same.
On Thursday, the Bombay High Court allowed a gurudwara in Ulhasnagar area of Thane district in Maharashtra to conduct a four-hour Prabhat Pheri on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on Friday, November 19.
While granting the permission, the division bench of Justices G S Patel and Madhav Jamdar expressed surprise at the authorities having objected to the religious ritual. The bench said, "We are quite unable to see how one particular religious institution can be singled out for refusal of permission on a particular day."
