A body spray brand was brutally slammed on social media for showing an advertisement promoting rape culture.
There are some advertisements nowadays that are so bizarre that they stay with you for a long time. And, we have one such with us that definitely will. So, a body spray brand’s advertisement has grabbed attention on social media for all the wrong reasons. The video of the advert has gone viral online as the internet claims it is promoting rape culture.
The now-viral video was posted on Twitter by Monika Manchanda. The advertisement was from a body spray brand called Layer’r Shot. It began with a girl and a boy in a room when, suddenly, his friends barged inside. “Hey bro, shot maara (Hey bro, did you hit a shot?)” asks one of the boys. “Haan maara (Yes, I did),” replies the boy.
“Ab humari baari hai (Now, it is our turn),” quips another boy, while the girl looked at all of them in a confused manner.
“Can't find the ad online but here it is, apparently being played during the match. I didn't see it till @hitchwriter showed it to me. Who are the people making these ads really?” reads the caption of the post.
“And NO, Please DO NOT ask me what is so wrong with it. Or DO NOT tell me to lighten up and take a joke. Or chill and move on! Or why am I making this bigger by bringing fear here. Just DO NOT! I will block you,” Monika Manchanda added in the comments.
