Body recovered from Cochrane area house fire

Ontario Provincial Police say they have recovered a body from the recent house fire in Fournier Township.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they have recovered a body from the recent house fire in Fournier Township, west of Cochrane.
An officer with James Bay OPP discovered the fire while on patrol on Highway 11 shortly before 4 a.m. on Wednesday.
“The home and a detached garage were engulfed, and eventually collapsed,” said police in a news release.
“The scene has been released, but the cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation.”
Several OPP units are participating in the ongoing investigation along with the Ontario Office of the Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
Police have not released any details about the victim.
