Christian Bergeron and his daughter Maya went through the ice at Pete's Dam Park on Dec. 29.
After days of searching, Maya's remains were found around 1 p.m. Jan. 1, police said in a news release Thursday.
"One person has been found deceased and the search for a second person continues after they were observed going through the ice," police said.
The search for the father's remains continues today by the Temiskaming OPP, OPP North East emergency response team and the OPP underwater search and recovery unit, with the assistance of the Temiskaming Shores Fire Department and the Temiskaming Emergency Medical Services.
"The search is continuing for the second person," police said.
