BMC chief chairs review meeting on monsoon preparedness ahead of heavy rains in Mumbai

With the monsoon set to arrive in Mumbai in the next few days, Brihanmumbai Corporation (BMC) chief Iqbal Singh Chahal on Tuesday held an urgent review meeting with corporation officials on monsoon preparedness. The meeting comes as several parts of Mumbai and its suburbs were hit by intermittent spells of pre-monsoon rains. The meteorological department has forecasted heavy rainfall in the city within the next few days. Regarding the sanitation works, the BMC chief has ordered completion of de-silting and cleaning of sewage lines at the earliest.
