Blades and Warriors to meet in Saskatoon Tuesday for WHL Game 7 battle

The back-and-forth series between the Moose Jaw Warriors and Saskatoon Blades is finally coming to a head.
On Tuesday night the two Western Hockey League (WHL) teams will finish their contentious series in a quest to advance and play for the Ed Chynoweth Cup. The game starts at 7 p.m. CST at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.
As of 5:30 p.m. CST Monday, the entire lower bowl of Sasktel Centre was sold out, according to Ticketmaster's website.
Five of the six games in the series so far have gone to overtime, with Moose Jaw winning Game 6 on Sunday night 4-3 in an extra frame.
If Game 7 were to go to overtime — making it the sixth such game in the series — it would make modern WHL history.
"There have been three playoff series that have included five overtime matches in modern WHL history [1996-present]," said Cami Kepke, WHL manager and communications person.
"Before that, we don't have reliable, accessible information surrounding overtime."
The Warriors have only reached the WHL championship once, in the 2005-06 season, but were swept by the Vancouver Giants.
As for the Blades, a win on Tuesday would end a 30-year drought since the last time they made it into the league final.
Blades head coach Brennan Sonne spoke with CBC shortly before heading into a Game 7 team meeting.
Sonne reflected on Sunday's overtime loss and said the team is always making adjustments.
"They've made many [adjustments], we've made many, so overtime doesn't change that. If there's something in your game you want to, you know, throw a wrinkle in, you're gonna do it," said Sonne.
On the mental side, Sonne said the team has prepared for playoff overtime the entire season with drilling.
"So usually heading into overtime, it's just callbacks to what we prepared for all season."
