An audio clip allegedly featuring Congress's Ahmedabad councillor Jamna Vegda is going viral where she could be heard discussing the use of black magic against two of her fellow Congress leaders.
With less than a year left for the Gujarat Assembly election, the state Congress unit finds itself in the middle of a controversy. An audio clip allegedly featuring Congress's Ahmedabad councillor Jamna Vegda is going viral where she could be heard discussing the use of black magic against two of her fellow Congress leaders.
In the audio clip, Jamna Vegda, who is the municipal corporator of Danilimda Ward in the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC), could be purportedly heard asking a tantrik to use black magic against senior Congress leader Shailesh Parmar and the Leader of Opposition in the AMC, Shehzad Khan Pathan.
However, Jamna Vegda said that the voice in the audio clip was not hers and claimed that it was a manufactured clip.
Incidentally, the Congress chose Pathan as the Leader of Opposition for AMC last month. Jamna Vegda was also vying for the post and had threatened to resign after Pathan's selection.
What was in the audio clip?
Here's the transcript of the viral audio clip, where Vegda could be purportedly heard speaking to the tantrik's assistant and then the tantrik herself. [Translated here from Hindi]
