Black fungus treatment for Covid-recovered begins in Bengaluru from today

The Karnataka government has decided to start the treatment for black fungus in the Covid-recovered patients at Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru on a pilot basis from today.

The Karnataka government has decided to start the treatment for "black fungus" or mucormycosis in the Covid-recovered or recovering patients at Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru on a pilot basis from Monday. The government has also decided to constitute a committee to treat mucormycosis. The committee will have an epidemiologist and a diabetologist. Four cases of mucormycosis have been reported in Karnataka's Vijayapura and Bagalkot districts. One patient went to Hyderabad for treatment and one of them went to Bengaluru, as per district authorities.
