BJP workers' behaviour unfair: DK Shivakumar reacts on protests against Siddaramaiah

DK Shivakumar, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, said that the way in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers behaved with Siddharamaiah was unfair.
Two days after eggs were hurled at Siddaramaiah's car and black flags were waved during his visit to Kodagu, DK Shivakumar, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President, said that the way in which the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers behaved was unfair.
He added, "Siddaramaiah holds a constitutional post and he visited Madikeri in Kodagu district for a reason, not for any personal thing."
As many as nine people were arrested by the Kushalanagar Police for throwing eggs at the Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Assembly and Congress leader Siddaramaiah’s car. However, the arrested people were later released on bail.
The incident took place on Thursday, August 18, when some people ‘gheraoed’ Siddaramaiah's car, raised slogans against him, showed him black flags and threw eggs at his car.
Meanwhile, Congress MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly Siddaramaiah on Friday raised concerns over his safety a day after the incident.
Addressing an event, Siddaramaiah said, "These people killed Gandhi, will they spare me? Godse had shot at Gandhi, but they worship his photo."
Siddaramaiah was in Kodagu on Thursday, to inspect the losses that occurred due to the recent spell of rain, when he faced protests by BJP workers. They showed him a black flag and raised slogans such as ‘Go back Siddaramaiah’. It is learnt that some of the protesters threw eggs at the former chief minister’s car.
