Posters were put up claiming that BJP leader Kirit Somaiya was missing after he was summoned by Mumbai's Economic Offence Wing in the INS Vikrant case.
Posters put up across Thane by the "Sanjay Raut fan club" claimed that former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, who was summoned by Mumbai's Economic Offence Wing, was missing. "People who give information about him will be given rewards and will also be honoured," the poster read. Some posters also showed Kirit Somaiya behind bars.
The posters were later taken down by the Thane Municipal Corporation.
Tushar Rasal of the Sanjay Raut Fan Club, who had put the posters in Thane, said, "There are so many issues like unemployment, the cost of living is going up, but instead of talking about these issues, Kirit Somaiya would come on channels in the morning and indulge in mud-slinging. But what he did with regards to INS Vikrant and the donation he collected, it is yet to be known what has happened to that money. Now that he has to answer, he has vanished. I just want to say that if he has not done anything, then he should not be scared and should present himself before the police."
