Mamata Banerjee has claimed that she was not invited to the virtual meeting of chief ministers chaired by PM Narendra Modi on Friday to discuss the Covid-19 situation. The BJP, while questioning her management of the pandemic, said the meeting was only for states witnessing a high burden of cases.
With two phases of polling in West Bengal still to go, CM Mamata Banerjee on Friday skipped a meeting of chief ministers with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During this virtual interaction, PM Modi took stock of the Covid-19 situation in states witnessing a higher burden of active cases. Mamata Banerjee claimed on Friday that she was not invited to the virtual meeting. It was for this meeting and two others that the Prime Minister cancelled his visit to poll-bound Bengal and decided to address public meetings virtually instead. Addressing a press conference at hotel Citi Residenci in Durgapur at 1 pm, Mamata Banerjee had said, "I heard he is having some meeting today but we are not invited. I would definitely have attended it had I been invited."More Related News
