A BJP leader was booked for allegedly hurling abuse at a woman and then assaulting her after she protested.
A BJP leader was booked by the Noida Police for allegedly abusing and assaulting a woman. Shrikant Tyagi, who identifies himself on social media as a national executive member of the BJP's Kisan Morcha, allegedly manhandled the woman following a spat inside a housing society.
The incident took place at the Grand Omaxe society in Sector-93B in Noida when the woman objected to plantation of some trees by Shrikant Tyagi, citing violation of rules even as he claimed he was within his rights to do so.
Videos of the incident were shared multiple times on social media, with one purportedly showing Shrikant Tyagi hurling expletives and assaulting the woman. Tyagi also hurled abusive words for her husband and made derogatory remarks about her.
Shrikant Tyagi had allegedly illegally occupied the society park, which inconvenienced the other residents. He was served with a notice over the illegal occupancy of the park, but Shrikant allegedly refused to do so and tried to use his position to his advantage.

When the woman tried to talk to Shrikant Tyagi about the issue, he allegedly lost his cool and started hurling abuses at her. When the woman protested, Tyagi allegedly pushed the woman. The incident was captured on phone by people who were on the spot.
Following the incident, Shrikant Tyagi was booked by the police.
