BJP-JD(U) to contest 2024 Lok Sabha, 2025 Bihar assembly elections together
India Today
The BJP has announced that it will contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 Bihar Assembly elections in alliance with the JD(U).
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), after the conclusion of its two-day national executive meet, has decided to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and 2025 Bihar Assembly elections in alliance with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal (United).
National general secretary of the BJP, Arun Singh, while addressing a press conference in Patna, dismissed speculations of any kind of a rift with the JD(U).
"There is no tug of war going on with the JD(U) and the BJP has always followed the coalition dharma. We will fight elections together, whether it is 2024 or in 2025," said Arun Singh.
Union Minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh also shared similar sentiments while speaking to India Today where he asserted that the saffron party would contest all future elections in alliance with the JD(U).
"We will always be fighting in alliance with JD(U). Not only in 2024 and 2025, but after that also," Giriraj Singh said.
It may be mentioned that the BJP and Nitish Kumar have not been at their best in recent times, with several BJP leaders choosing to attack the Bihar chief minister and speak in favour of a BJP CM in the state.
However, keeping in mind the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, it appears that the BJP has decided not to disturb Nitish Kumar and has gone on the back foot in Bihar.
