BJP hits out at Mumbai Mayor after her ‘no river to dump dead’ remark

The Mumbai Mayor took a jibe at the BJP government and remarked that there are no rivers in Mumbai where bodies can be dumped when told that the BJP had levelled allegations of under-reporting Covid deaths.
The Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in Mumbai has hit out at the Shiv Sena leader and Mayor of Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Kishori Pednekar. BJP leader Ram Kadam said the Shiv Sena should stop playing politics over the dead. “The BMC and the state government have been hiding the Covid death figures for the last one and half years. On the basis of facts and study, we presented the matter in front of the BMC and the state government. Keeping this in mind, the responsibility for the security of the people rests upon the Mumbai Mayor, but out of arrogance, she says that there are no rivers for the dead in Mumbai," said Ram Kadam. "Is this sarcasm or is she expressing remorse? There are so many people who died and there wasn’t enough space for their cremation. So what is the Mayor trying to say? Sena needs to stop playing politics over the dead," he added.More Related News
