Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) chief KS Alagiri has alleged that the BJP got donations of Rs 100 crore from 'Lottery King' Santiago Martin during this year's assembly polls. He has demanded a CBI probe into the matter.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president KS Alagiri has alleged that 'Lottery King' Santiago Martin gave donations to the tune of Rs 100 crore to the BJP during this year's assembly election in the state. He demanded a CBI inquiry into the donations received by the saffron party during poll campaigning.In a series of tweets in Tamil, Alagiri said that the Income Tax Department conducted four consecutive days of raids on the companies and properties of Martin on April 30, 2019. "Of this, Rs 5.8 crore in cash and Rs 24 crore worth of gold and diamonds were seized," he said."In 2011, the CBI registered 30 cases against Martin and his close associates. A case is pending against him by the Sikkim government for allegedly defrauding the state to the tune of Rs 4,500 crore.
