BJP fields Raama Srinivasan in Madurai

Raama Srinivasan, BJP candidate for Madurai Lok Sabha, known for activism, education, and leadership in Tamil Nadu politics.
The Tamil Nadu BJP State general secretary Raama Srinivasan (60) has been fielded as the BJP candidate of Madurai Lok Sabha constituency on Friday.
Born in 1964 in T. Kallupatti in Madurai district, Mr. Srinivasan has been actively involved in the party and popular among the talk-shows in the electronic media and digital network.
Having secured a Ph.D in Gandhian philosophy, he has been serving as an Independent Director in NABARD.
He worked as a faculty at SASTRA deemed-to-be university, Thanjavur, and has also been a visiting professor at many universities.
Prior to joining the BJP, he was a member in Swadeshi Jagran Manch at State level and a national member in the Vivekananda Kendra.
He contested the by-poll held for the Tirupparankundram Assembly Constituency in 2016.
As a State functionary in the BJP, he spearheaded a movement for revival and rehabilitation of the shut granite quarries in Madurai district. He was one among the strong contenders who played an active role in bringing the AIIMS in Madurai.
