DK Shivakumar claimed that issues on halal, hijab are being created to deviate from the fact that the BJP failed to convince people of the state politically. The Karnataka Congress president said Congress holds the upper hand in all local body polls.
Karnataka Congress president DK Shivakumar on Thursday said that BJP government in the state has failed to convince people of the state politically and halal and hijab issues are generated to deviate attention from real issues.
DK Shivakumar also claimed that Congress now holds the upper hand in all local body polls, hence halal and hijab issues are being racked up by BJP.
"BJP has failed to convince people of the state politically. Congress has the upper hand in all local body polls, so they want to deviate from the issues. Everything is being generated from Karnataka, be it hijab or halal issue," the Congress leader said.

"They will also hit the farmers and small traders. No investment is coming. They are harassing the Muslim community," he added.
Congress leaders have alleged that such issues are being created by keeping an eye on the upcoming state elections.
