A BJP delegation is set to meet the Election Commission over TMC MLA Naren Chakraborty’s remark threatening the party voters.
A BJP delegation is set to meet the Election Commission of India (ECI) at 5 pm on Tuesday, demanding action against Trinamool Congress MLA Naren Chakraborty for issuing threats to the voters of the saffron party.
Another BJP delegation will meet the chief electoral officer (CEO) of West Bengal in Kolkata on Tuesday.
BJP Bengal co-incharge Amit Malviya had shared a video of Naren Chakraborty, in which the TMC leader asked BJP supporters not to vote, else they would be found after the polls.
Amit Malviya asked the Election Commission to take note of the video. He also criticised West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Bannerjee and accused her of patronising such MLAs.
Rajya Sabha member and BJP national media in-charge Anil Baluni also tweeted a video of the incident. He said, “Naren Chakraborty, MLA of Mamata Banerjee's TMC from Pandaveswar, openly threatened the voters of Asansol in a press conference, saying that if they vote for BJP, they will make it difficult to stay in Bengal. Democracy continues unabated in Bengal."
