The Congress has accused the BJP of handing over the enquiry into the REET paper leak to the financial probe agency to divert the people's attention from the issues of price rise and unemployment which have plagued the common man.
The issue of the alleged paper leak during the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) last year is likely to take centre stage in Rajasthan politics once again, with the state government accusing the BJP of bringing in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to probe the case.
The Congress has accused the BJP of handing over the enquiry into the REET paper leak to the financial probe agency to divert the people's attention from the issues of price rise and unemployment which have plagued the common man.
“Where is the place where the Opposition is in government and the ED has not gone? ED has gone everywhere. That is why, it was a given that the Rajasthan government has become an eyesore for the central government. For the first time, it has happened that those from whom people expect justice are sending their agencies to states to interfere,” cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said.

Several students, who had appeared for the REET last year, have been alleging that the examination was marred by the paper leak apart from other widespread irregularities. Already over two dozen arrests have been made by the investigating agencies, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), which is investigating the case in the state.
“When we have come into politics, we are neither afraid of fighting nor of dying in politics. If even one worker or leader of the Congress is harassed, then the state will stand up, the country will stand up, Congress will stand up against it. The country has understood that when people die of hunger, struggle for rotis and employment, shed tears of blood, you send in the ED, the CBI, and the Income Tax to divert attention from these issues and to raise a new controversy,” Khachariyawas said.
Over 20 lakh candidates, including several from outside Rajasthan, had appeared for the entrance test for the recruitment of teachers in the state.
