The world's largest and the most popular cryptocurrency, Bitcoin's price fell by 3.22 per cent to $28,770.45.
Bitcoin's price on Friday plunged well below $30,000 and other cryptocurrencies were trading in the red, according to data on CoinDesk. The world's second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, Ethereum, fell over nine per cent.
Investors were jittery about the risky digital assets amid ongoing concerns about the economic downturn and high inflation.

Ethereum was down by 10.62 per cent to $1,722.18, as per data from CoinDesk.
"With Bitcoin and Ethereum falling below their support levels in the past 24 hours, selling pressure increased in the market. It seems like market participants are under extreme fear as the support of both the cryptos appears to be weak," Edul Patel, Co-Founder & CEO of Mudrex, said.
"BTC’s lower support at US$28,000 is vital, a drop from that level would take the crypto to US$24,000. But a move above US$31,000 could push the price up," Patel said.
XRP fell 2.52 per cent, Solana was down by 13.58 per cent, Cardano fell 10.78 per cent, Stellar fell 8 per cent, Polkadot was down by 10.84 per cent, Avalanche fell by 17.01 per cent, Shiba Inu was down by 10.15 per cent, and Polygon fell by 10.10 per cent.
