It’s common to think of owls as wise. Where did this idea originate and why do we often call older people "wise old owls"? Here's a deep dive into the bird, the natural world and more.

But where did the wisdom characteristic of these birds originate — and why have we transferred that trait to humans who live long lives? "Owls inhabit diverse habitats worldwide, on every continent except Antarctica." Erica Lamberg is a contributing reporter for Fox News Digital.
