In a letter to CBP earlier this week, two U.S. senators called for authorities to allow Americans to opt out of facial recognition at airports.
"There's a lot to be said for facial recognition with people entering the country, but you should have a different standard for people entering the country who aren't U.S. citizens than you have for U.S. citizens," Blunt added. "My concern is we don't want the U.S. to become China."
In a letter to CBP earlier this week, Blunt and U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., called for authorities to give Americans the chance to opt out of facial recognition at airports. They also demanded more transparency.
