Bihar CM Nitish Kumar reiterates demand for caste census, says will help in nation’s development

Reiterating his demand for a caste-based census, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that it is in the national interest and will help facilitate development of the country.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reiterated his demand for a caste-based census on Sunday, saying that it is in the national interest and will help in development of the country.

Asked about the Centre's affidavit in the Supreme Court that virtually ruled out census on the caste lines, Nitish Kumar told reporters that it was "absolutely not correct", but added that the matter was not directly related to the issue of caste census.
