Bihar BJP MLA demands withdrawal of voting rights of Muslims
India Today
This came after comments made by AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman, in which he demanded that the Muslims in the country should be given rights based on their population.
Bihar BJP MLA Hari Bhushan Thakur has demanded that the government should "take away the right to vote from Muslims."
“In 1947, the country was divided in the name of religion and they got another country. They should go to another country. If they are living here, then I demand from the government that their voting rights be withdrawn. They (Muslims) can live in India as second class citizens,” said BJP MLA Harishankar Thakur.

Thakur's statement came as a counter to the comments made by Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman, in which he had demanded that the Muslims in the country should be given rights based on their population.
The BJP MLA alleged that Muslims were "running the agenda of ISI in the country and they are working on the agenda to make India an Islamic country."
Harishankar Thakur also denied that Muslims are a minority in this country and said that there is no word like a minority in the Constitution.
