
Biden says red wave 'didn't happen,' Americans voted to 'preserve democracy,' 'protect the right to choose'

President Biden said Election Day was a “good day for America,” saying the red wave “didn’t happen,” and that voters cast ballots “to protect the right to choose in this country."
The balance of power in Congress still hangs in limbo as races in the House and Senate have yet to be called. "Well, we had an election day yesterday, and I think it was a good day for democracy—and I think it was a good day for America," Biden said. "Our democracy has been tested in recent years, but with their votes, the American people have spoken and proven once again that democracy is who we are."
