Biden pardon for simple marijuana possession won’t apply to illegal immigrants
Fox News
President Biden's pardon of federal convictions for simple marijuana possession will not apply to illegal immigrants -- a move that has angered activist groups.
"As I often said during my campaign for President, no one should be in jail just for using or possessing marijuana," Biden said. " Sending people to prison for possessing marijuana has upended too many lives and incarcerated people for conduct that many states no longer prohibit." The White House said that while no-one is currently in prison for "simple possession," a pardon for those who have convictions could allow better access to housing or employment. He can be reached at adam.shaw2@fox.com or on Twitter.
