Biden DOJ seeks Supreme Court intervention over Texas razor wire at southern border
Fox News
The Department of Justice on Tuesday asked the Supreme Court to intervene in its dispute with Texas over the construction of razor wire at the southern border.
Texas had sued the administration in October over the destruction of parts of more than 29 miles of wire it had set up to stop illegal crossings. The state accused the government of illegally destroying property owned by the state, but also harming efforts to secure the border. "By cutting Texas’s concertina wire, the federal government has not only illegally destroyed property owned by the State of Texas; it has also disrupted the State’s border security efforts, leaving gaps in Texas’s border barriers and damaging Texas’s ability to effectively deter illegal entry into its territory," Texas said.
